What is not allowed, how to report it, and how we decide. Last updated 24 August 2026.

This page explains what is not allowed on Daytify, how to report something, how we decide, what we can do about it, and how to challenge us if you think we got it wrong. It also sets out, plainly, what we do not currently do — because a platform that overstates its safety measures is misleading its users, and we would rather you knew where you actually stand.

It sits alongside our Terms of Service, which are the binding agreement between you and us, and our Privacy Policy.

Who we are

Daytify OÜ
Registry code 17541094, Estonian Commercial Register (Äriregister)
Tööstuse tn 48, Põhja-Tallinna linnaosa, Tallinn, Harju maakond 10416, Estonia

Single point of contact for anything on this page: safety@daytify.com

Daytify is a hosting service under the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065). In Estonia the Act is enforced by the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (Tarbijakaitse ja Tehnilise Järelevalve Amet), acting as Digital Services Coordinator under § 12(4) of the Information Society Services Act.

How to report illegal content

Anyone can report content to us. You do not need a Daytify account, you do not need to be the person affected, and you do not need a lawyer.

By email — open to everybody

Send your report to safety@daytify.com. This is our notice-and-action mechanism under Article 16 of the Digital Services Act, and it is the channel that is available to everyone, whether or not you are a member. If something is urgent, put Urgent in the subject line.

Inside the site — for signed-in members

  • Report User — on any member’s profile. You describe the problem in your own words.
  • Report this comment — on any profile comment.

These in-product buttons are quick, and they automatically tell us which account or comment you mean. They are only available to signed-in members, which is exactly why the email route above exists and why it is the one we point everyone to.

What to put in a report

The more of this you can give us, the faster and better our decision will be:

  • Why you believe the content is illegal or breaks our rules — an explanation with enough substance for us to understand the problem. “This is a scam, they asked me to send money to this account” is useful. “I don’t like them” is not.
  • Exactly where it is — the profile URL, the username, the page address, or a description precise enough for us to find the item. Screenshots help.
  • Your name and email address, so that we can confirm receipt and tell you what we decided. The one exception: if you are reporting suspected child sexual abuse material, you do not have to give us your name — report it anyway.
  • A statement that, to the best of your knowledge, what you have told us is accurate and complete. A sentence is enough.

An incomplete report is still better than no report. We will act on what we can.

What happens next

  • We confirm receipt. Without undue delay, and in practice within 48 hours, you get an email confirming we have your report.
  • We look at it properly. Every report is assessed in a timely, diligent, non-arbitrary and objective way. We look at the content itself and at its context. We do not act on volume — ten reports from a coordinated group do not outweigh one well-founded report, and one report is enough if it is right.
  • A person decides. Moderation decisions on Daytify are taken by a human being. We do not use automated decision-making to remove content or restrict accounts.
  • We tell you what we decided. Normally within 7 days. If a case is genuinely complicated we will tell you that, and tell you when to expect an answer. Reports involving a risk to someone’s safety jump the queue and are handled immediately.
  • We explain your options if you disagree with the outcome.

If we act against you: your statement of reasons

If we remove your content, hide it, restrict a feature, suspend your account or ban you, we owe you an explanation. That is Article 17 of the Digital Services Act, and it applies whether we acted because the content was illegal or because it broke our own rules.

We send it by email to the address registered to your account, without undue delay, and it tells you:

  • What we did — removal, hiding, feature restriction, suspension or ban — and how long it lasts and where it applies.
  • Why — the actual facts and circumstances we relied on, and whether we acted on a report from someone else or on our own initiative. If we acted on a report, we will tell you that; we will not identify the person who reported you unless we are legally required to.
  • Whether any automated tool was involved in detecting or deciding. Today the answer is essentially always no, and we will say so.
  • The legal ground, if we treated the content as illegal, and why we think it is illegal on that ground.
  • Which rule you broke, if we acted under our own Terms, quoting the rule and explaining how your content fell foul of it.
  • How to challenge it — the appeal route below, and your right to go to court or to an out-of-court dispute settlement body instead.

A one-line “your account has been suspended” is not a statement of reasons and is not what you will get from us.

Appealing a decision

If you think we were wrong — including where we refused to act on your report — tell us.

  • Email safety@daytify.com with Appeal in the subject line, and tell us what we should have done differently and why.
  • You have at least 6 months from the day we notified you of the decision.
  • We confirm receipt within 48 hours and give you a reasoned answer within 14 days.
  • Wherever possible, the appeal is reviewed by someone who was not involved in the original decision.
  • If we were wrong, we reverse it, restore what we removed, and say so.

Appealing to us does not take away your other rights. You can go to court, and you can complain to the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (Tarbijakaitse ja Tehnilise Järelevalve Amet, Endla 10A, 10122 Tallinn, ttja.ee), which supervises the Digital Services Act in Estonia. For complaints about the paid parts of the service rather than moderation, see our Terms of Service and Refund Policy; we answer consumer complaints within 15 days.

Daytify is a small enterprise, so the Digital Services Act does not oblige us to run the formal mechanisms in Articles 19 to 28 — trusted flaggers, a certified internal complaint-handling system, or published transparency reports. We are not claiming to operate those. The appeal route described above is a commitment we make voluntarily, and we will honour it.

Threats to life and safety

If we become aware of information that gives us reason to suspect that a criminal offence involving a threat to someone’s life or safety has happened, is happening, or is likely to happen, we promptly inform the law enforcement or judicial authorities of the country concerned and give them all the relevant information we have. Where we cannot work out with reasonable certainty which country that is, we inform the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board, or Europol. This is Article 18 of the Digital Services Act, and it overrides our normal privacy practice.

If someone is in immediate danger, call the emergency services on 112 first. We are a website; the police can actually get to someone. Report it to us as well, at safety@daytify.com, and we will preserve what we hold and cooperate.

What is not allowed on Daytify

Anyone under 18

Daytify is for adults only. Nobody under 18 may create an account, appear in a photo or video on the site, or be described in a profile. If you believe a member is under 18, report it immediately to safety@daytify.com and we will act ahead of everything else in the queue. Sexual content involving minors is reported to law enforcement, without exception and without warning the account holder.

Harassment and abuse

No threats, no intimidation, no stalking, no sexual harassment, no repeated contact with someone who has asked you to stop or has blocked you, no encouraging others to pile on. “No” is a complete answer and it is the end of the conversation.

Impersonation

Use your own photos and describe yourself honestly. Do not pretend to be another real person, do not use someone else’s pictures, and do not run a profile on behalf of somebody who has not agreed to it. Catfishing is a rule breach and, depending on what you do with it, a crime.

Non-consensual and explicit imagery

Do not upload intimate images of anyone who has not agreed to them being published — this includes images of a former partner, and it is a serious criminal matter in most of Europe. Do not send unsolicited sexual images to anyone. Do not post pornographic content, and keep profile photos and public content decent.

Scams and financial solicitation

Do not ask other members for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency or bank details. Do not present investment “opportunities”. Do not pretend to be in an emergency abroad. Do not phish for passwords or personal data. Romance fraud is the single most common harm on dating platforms and we treat it as such.

A practical warning, because it matters more than any rule we can write: nobody you meet on a dating site has a legitimate reason to ask you for money. If someone you have never met in person starts talking about their financial trouble, an investment tip, or a customs fee, you are being defrauded. Stop, do not send anything, and report them.

Spam and commercial use

Daytify is not an advertising channel. No bulk or repetitive messaging, no links to external commercial sites or webcam services, no recruiting for other platforms, no automated accounts or bots.

Hate speech and discrimination

No content attacking people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation or gender identity. No content promoting or glorifying violent extremism or terrorism, and no hateful symbols.

Illegal goods and services

No drugs, no weapons, no stolen or counterfeit goods, no forged documents, no commercial sexual services, no human trafficking. Any indication of trafficking or coercion goes to the police.

Anything else that is illegal

Content that is illegal under Estonian or European Union law is not permitted here, whether or not this page lists it specifically.

Tools you have

You do not have to wait for us to act.

  • Block a member. “Block User” on any profile. They can no longer contact you or interact with your profile. You never have to explain yourself, and we do not tell them.
  • Report a profile. “Report User” on any profile, in your own words.
  • Report a comment. “Report this comment” on any profile comment.
  • Stealth mode. Browse without appearing in member listings or in “who viewed me”.
  • Privacy settings. Control who can see your profile, who can message you, and who can see your photos.
  • Private photos. Keep specific photos out of your public profile.
  • Delete your account. At any time, from your account settings.

Blocking is instant and effective. Use it freely — you do not owe anyone a conversation.

What we can do

Depending on how serious the problem is, whether it has happened before, and whether it looks deliberate, we may:

  • Remove or hide the content — a photo, a comment, a profile field, a message.
  • Issue a warning explaining what was wrong and what happens if it continues.
  • Restrict a feature — for example stopping an account from messaging or uploading, while leaving the rest of the account working.
  • Suspend the account temporarily while we investigate.
  • Ban the account permanently and refuse re-registration.
  • Report the matter to the police where a criminal offence appears to be involved.

We aim to use the lightest measure that actually fixes the problem, and we escalate for repeat or deliberate breaches. Serious harms — anything involving a minor, non-consensual imagery, threats of violence or trafficking — go straight to a permanent ban with no warning stage.

If your account is suspended or banned, any dayts you have already bought and not spent are not forfeited. See the Refund Policy and Purchase and Dayts.

Where we fall short: what we do not do

We would rather tell you this than let you assume otherwise.

  • Nothing is reviewed before it appears. Profiles, photos, videos, audio clips and profile comments are published immediately when a member uploads them. Pre-publication approval exists in our software but is switched off. Our moderation is reactive: in practice, we look at content when somebody reports it.
  • We do not proactively scan uploads. There is no automated image, video or audio screening on Daytify — no nudity detection, no face matching, no hash matching against known illegal material. If you see something wrong, we probably do not know about it until you tell us.
  • Our automated word filter is minimal. It is a list of four terms. It is not a content safety system and we are not going to describe it as one.
  • Age is self-declared. At registration you give a date of birth, and our server independently rejects anyone who states an age under 18 — that check is real and it does not depend on ticking a box. But there is no document check, no ID upload and no biometric age estimation. Somebody who lies about their date of birth will get an account. This is the single biggest gap in our safety model and we are stating it plainly.
  • Bot and identity checks are off. reCAPTCHA and SMS verification are both switched off at present, and we do not operate any identity-verification or document-check process.
  • We do not read your private messages routinely. Messages between members are not monitored. We look at a conversation when it is reported to us, or where we are legally required to.

The practical consequence: your reports are how moderation happens here. If something is wrong, telling us is not a formality — it is the mechanism. Please use it.

How we handle your report data

When you report something we keep what you send us, together with the content complained of, for as long as we need it to deal with the report, to handle any appeal, and to defend a legal claim. We do not pass your identity to the person you reported unless a law or a court requires it. Reports of child sexual abuse material can be made anonymously. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

Deliberately abusing the reporting system — filing reports you know to be false, or filing them in volume to harass someone — is itself a breach of our rules and we will act on it.

Changes to this page

We will update this page when what we actually do changes. If we switch pre-publication review on, add automated screening, or introduce age verification, this page will say so. If we take something away, this page will say that too.

      Set and controlled by
Daytify OÜ decides what is measured. The measurement itself is carried out by whichever analytics provider we use at the time, acting on our instructions.

Scripts loaded from Meta and Google. Merely loading them contacts those companies and lets them recognise your browser, so we do not load them at all until you say yes.

      Purpose
The Facebook SDK powers Facebook sign-in and audience measurement. The Google reCAPTCHA script tells humans from bots on our forms. Both are currently switched off in our settings, so blocking them changes nothing for you.

      Third-party access
Yes — Meta and Google can read their own cookies and, as soon as the script loads, receive your IP address and the address of the page you are on.
