FAQs

Straight answers about how Daytify works, what it costs, and what it does not do. Registering and browsing are free of charge; sending a message costs 5 dayts, which is €0.05. Everything below is written to match our Terms of Service and the other legal pages — if you ever spot a difference, the legal pages are the ones that bind us.

What is Daytify?

Daytify is an online dating website run by Daytify OÜ, a company registered in Estonia under registry code 17541094 and based in Tallinn. You create a profile, browse and search other members, and get in touch with the people you like the look of. Everything happens on the website itself — profile, search, messages, chat, flirts and gifts.

The site sits behind a registration wall. Only members who are signed in can see profiles, so a visitor who is not logged in sees a “members only” notice instead.

Registering, filling in your profile, uploading photos, browsing, searching and reading the messages you receive are free of charge. Sending a message is not: it costs 5 dayts, which is €0.05. Flirts, virtual gifts and Profile Boost also cost dayts.

There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically. Dayts are the only thing you can buy here. The complete price list is on Purchase & Dayts.

Yes. Daytify is an adult service. At registration you enter your date of birth and tick a box confirming you are 18 or over, and our server checks that date of birth independently of the tick box — a date showing an age under 18 is refused whatever the box says.

We do not check identity documents and we do not compare your date of birth against any official record, so the check only works if what you enter is true. If you believe a member is under 18, email safety@daytify.com and we treat it as urgent.

The form asks for a username, your gender, your first and last name, a password (entered twice), your email address (entered twice) and your date of birth. That is all, and you are signed in straight away.

You tick two separate boxes: one to accept the Terms of Service, and one giving explicit consent for us to process the profile details that make up a dating profile. They are deliberately separate — ticking one does not tick the other, and you can withdraw the second on its own later.

We would rather tell you than let you find out. There is no mobile app for iOS or Android; Daytify runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Members cannot keep a blog. Searching by distance or “near me”, and searching by postcode, are switched off, because the mapping keys they need are not configured. SMS verification and reCAPTCHA are switched off, and there is no identity or document verification of any kind.

There are no membership plans or subscriptions. And at the time of writing no payment method is enabled on the site, so dayts cannot actually be bought at the moment — the purchase screen will say so. If any of this changes, these pages change with it.

What goes into a profile?

Basic details first: country, region, city, postcode, your gender, who you are seeking, age, an “about me” description and your interests. Then fourteen further questions, all of which are currently mandatory in the form: Seeking, Eye Colour, Religion, Ethnicity, Marital Status, Children, Income, Body Type, Smoker, Drink, Hair Colour, Employment, Education, and a free-text “My Match” field of up to 2,000 characters.

Because those fourteen are mandatory, the honest position is that if you would rather not answer them, the site will not be usable for you as it stands. What you type into a free-text field is up to you — please keep health details, identity document numbers and other people’s personal data out of it.

Your own gender plus the gender you are seeking reveals your sexual orientation, and two of the profile questions ask directly about religion and ethnicity. Under Article 9 of the GDPR that is special category data — the most strongly protected kind there is — and the only realistic legal basis for a commercial dating service is your explicit consent.

So we ask for it separately from the Terms, and you can withdraw it separately, at any time, without closing your account. What withdrawing does is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Up to 10 photos, up to 8 audio files and up to 6 videos, plus photo albums and galleries and a profile cover image. You can delete any of them at any time; removing a file takes it off your profile and out of other members’ view.

No. There is no moderation queue and no automatic content scan before publication. What you upload goes live immediately and is visible to signed-in members. Pre-publication approval exists in the software but is switched off.

Moderation here is reactive: members report content, and a person reviews the report. The detail is in the Content Moderation Policy.

Yes, and this is worth knowing. We do not re-compress or re-encode what you upload, so any metadata your camera or phone embedded stays inside the file. That can include the GPS coordinates of the place the photo was taken.

If that matters to you, strip the metadata before uploading. It is far easier than getting it back afterwards — and if another member has already saved or screenshotted a file, we have no way of reaching that copy.

Private photos are kept out of your public profile and shown only to the members you allow. Everything else on your profile is visible to any signed-in member, subject to your privacy settings and stealth mode.

How do I search for someone?

Basic search covers gender, who you are seeking and an age range. Advanced search adds every profile question — eye colour, religion, ethnicity, marital status, children, income, body type, smoker, drink, hair colour, employment and education. You can save a search and run it again later.

No. Distance search and postcode search are both switched off, because the mapping keys they depend on are not configured on the site. Narrow your search by country, region and city instead.

My Matches filters profiles against criteria that you and other members typed in yourselves. It is a filter, not a verdict: there is no scoring model, no compatibility percentage and no inferred ranking of people. If a profile appears, it is because it fits the criteria.

The members list is the full set of profiles you can browse, and you can sort it. Trending shows profiles that are getting attention at the moment.

Profiles with an active Profile Boost sit at the top of the default members list for the time that was paid for. If you have chosen your own sort order — alphabetical, or oldest first — a boost does not override your choice.

Meet Me shows you one profile at a time and asks whether you are interested. When two people both say yes, you both find out. It costs nothing.

Quite a lot. Browsing and searching, saved searches, My Matches, adding people to favourites, sending and accepting friend requests, seeing who viewed your profile and whose profiles you viewed, rating profiles, commenting on profiles, the activity feed and your notifications all cost nothing. So does receiving a message, a flirt or a gift — and so does blocking or reporting somebody. Safety is never behind a price.

What does it cost to send a message?

5 dayts, which is €0.05. The price is shown under the message box, next to your balance, before you press Send — you never send a message without having seen what it costs.

No. The sender pays, never the recipient. Receiving a message, a flirt or a gift costs you nothing, and reading and re-reading your inbox costs nothing.

The send is refused and nothing is charged. Your balance cannot go negative, and we never take a payment outside a purchase you placed yourself. Top up and try again.

A flirt — sometimes called a wink — is a one-tap way of saying you are interested without writing anything. You pick a short phrase from a list, and it costs 2 dayts (€0.02). The other person gets a notification.

You can send one flirt to the same person per day. If you try again within 24 hours it is refused and no dayts are taken — the screen tells you how long is left.

When you have flirted with someone and they have flirted with you, the flirt is mutual. Each of you can then send the other one message free of charge — you do not need dayts for it, and nothing is deducted.

After that free message, the usual price applies: 5 dayts (€0.05) per message. The mutual free message is one per direction, not one per day.

There is internal mail, one-to-one chat, group chat, flirts, comments on profiles, and virtual gifts. Whenever an action has a price, that price and your balance are shown before you confirm it, so nothing is ever charged without you having seen the cost first.

No, and we would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise. We cannot promise a reply, a match or a date, and no dating service honestly can. A message that was delivered was delivered.

What we do put right: if dayts are deducted in error — a message that failed to send, or a duplicate charge — tell support@daytify.com and we restore them. And within 14 days of buying you can withdraw from the purchase itself; see the Refund Policy.

What is a dayt?

A dayt is the unit we use for paid actions. The rate is fixed: 100 dayts = €1, so one dayt is €0.01. You buy dayts once and then spend them on individual actions — sending a message, sending a flirt, sending a gift, or boosting your profile.

Dayts are not money and not a payment instrument. They cannot be sent to another member, they are not accepted anywhere outside Daytify, and they are not redeemable for cash except under the refund rules.

Five, and the larger ones include bonus dayts, so the price per dayt goes down: Starter, €5 for 500 dayts; Plus, €10 for 1,100 (+10%); Popular, €25 for 3,000 (+20%); Premium, €50 for 6,500 (+30%); Ultimate, €100 for 14,000 (+40%). Bonus dayts behave exactly like the rest — same refund rules, and they do not expire.

You can also enter your own amount instead, converted at the standard 100 dayts per €1, in whole euros, from €1 up to €1,000 per transaction. A custom amount does not include bonus dayts.

Sending a message, 5 dayts (€0.05). Sending a flirt, 2 dayts (€0.02). Sending a virtual gift, 10 to 350 dayts depending on the gift (€0.10 to €3.50). Profile Boost, 50 dayts for 30 minutes (€0.50), 120 dayts for 3 hours (€1.20), or 400 dayts for 24 hours (€4.00).

Every one of those prices is fixed, the same for everybody, and shown in the interface before you confirm. Prices are not personalised. The full list is on Purchase & Dayts.

The purchase screen is inside your profile, under Settings. You pick a pack or type an amount, the summary shows how many dayts you will receive and the total in euros, and you tick two separate confirmations — one that you have read the Terms and the Refund Policy, and one asking for the dayts to be credited immediately. Both are required. The button then reads “Order with obligation to pay” and shows the amount, so it is always clear that pressing it costs money.

One caveat, stated plainly: at the time of writing no payment method is enabled on the site, so a purchase cannot be completed at the moment and the screen will tell you so. Whichever methods are available appear at checkout. Payment details go to the payment provider and never to us.

Your balance appears at the top of the purchase screen, and next to the message box whenever an action has a price. The full record is in your profile under Settings → History: what you bought, what you spent it on, and when.

An invoice is generated automatically for every purchase. The PDF is emailed to the address on your account and stays available in your History, so you always have a durable copy.

No. Dayts are the only thing you can buy on Daytify, and nothing renews automatically, so there is nothing to cancel. If we ever introduce a renewing product, the renewal terms and the way to cancel will be disclosed before you buy.

Never. Unspent dayts do not expire and are not forfeited — not if you stop using the site, not if you close your account, not if we close it, and not if you withdraw a consent you gave us. If your account closes while you still hold unspent dayts, we repay the part of the price that corresponds to them; write to support@daytify.com.

What does Profile Boost actually do?

It places your profile at the top of the members list for the period you paid for: 50 dayts for 30 minutes, 120 dayts for 3 hours, or 400 dayts for 24 hours. That is the whole mechanism — paid placement for a stretch of time.

It does not override a sort order a member has chosen themselves, such as alphabetical or oldest first; those lists stay in the order that member asked for. It does not promise you views, replies or matches, and we do not refund a boost because it did not produce the result you hoped for. A boost that ran was provided.

There are 20 gifts to choose from, priced between 10 and 350 dayts each — that is €0.10 to €3.50. Each gift carries its own price, and that exact price is shown on the gift before you send it.

No. The sender pays. A gift is a decoration shown on your profile: it does not add dayts to your balance, and dayts cannot be passed between members in any case.

How do I stop someone contacting me?

Use “Block User” on their profile. Blocking is instant: they can no longer contact you or interact with your profile. We do not tell them, you never have to explain yourself, and it costs nothing. Use it freely — you do not owe anyone a conversation.

“Report User” sits on every profile and “Report this comment” on every profile comment, and you describe the problem in your own words. You can also email safety@daytify.com, which is open to anyone, including people who do not have an account. Put “Urgent” in the subject line if it is urgent. Reporting never costs anything.

Tell us why you think the content is wrong and exactly where it is. A profile address, a username or a screenshot helps a great deal.

We confirm receipt without undue delay, in practice within 48 hours. A person assesses the report — moderation decisions here are taken by human beings, not by automated systems — and we normally tell you the outcome within 7 days, sooner where someone’s safety is at risk. Volume does not decide anything: ten coordinated reports do not outweigh one well-founded one.

What we can do ranges from removing content and issuing a warning to restricting a feature, suspending an account or banning it permanently, and reporting the matter to the police where a criminal offence appears to be involved. The full process is in Content Moderation.

You get a statement of reasons by email: what we did, how long it lasts, the facts we relied on, which rule or legal ground applied, whether any automated tool was involved, and how to challenge it. A one-line “your account has been suspended” is not what you will get from us.

To appeal, email safety@daytify.com with “Appeal” in the subject line. You have at least 6 months from the day we notified you. We confirm receipt within 48 hours and give a reasoned answer within 14 days, and wherever possible somebody who was not involved in the original decision reviews it.

Nothing is reviewed before it appears — profiles, photos, videos, audio clips and comments all publish immediately. There is no proactive scanning of uploads: no nudity detection, no face matching, no hash matching against known illegal material. The automated word filter is a list of four terms, and we are not going to describe that as a safety system. Age is self-declared, with the server-side date-of-birth check described above but no document check and no biometric estimate. reCAPTCHA and SMS verification are both switched off. We do not read private messages routinely; we look at a conversation when it is reported, or where the law requires it.

The practical consequence is simple: your reports are how moderation happens here. If something is wrong, telling us is not a formality — it is the mechanism.

Stealth mode lets you browse without appearing in member listings or in anyone’s “who viewed me”. Privacy settings control who can see your profile, who can message you and who can see your photos. Private photos keep specific images out of your public profile. It is all in your account settings, and none of it costs dayts.

One rule covers most of it: nobody you meet on a dating site has a legitimate reason to ask you for money. Requests for cash, gift cards, cryptocurrency or bank details, investment tips, emergencies abroad, customs fees — stop, send nothing, and report it. Never share intimate images of anybody who has not agreed to it, and do not post other people’s private information.

Meet in a public place, tell a friend where you are going, and take your time. If someone is in immediate danger, call the emergency services on 112 first — we are a website, the police can actually reach someone — then tell us at safety@daytify.com.

Can I change my details later?

Yes. Most profile data you can edit yourself in your account settings and the change takes effect immediately — your description, your preferences, your privacy settings, your notification settings. If something is wrong and you cannot fix it yourself, write to support@daytify.com.

Service notifications — a new message, a flirt, a friend request, a match digest, a payment result, a low balance — can mostly be switched off in your notification settings. They are part of the service rather than marketing.

Marketing email only ever goes to people who opted in to it in advance, and every one of them carries an unsubscribe link that works without logging in, paying anything or explaining yourself.

From your account settings, whenever you like, without giving a reason and without paying a fee. If you would rather we did it, email support@daytify.com. Deleting the account removes your uploaded photos, audio and video with it.

We keep only what the law requires us to keep, such as invoices and consent records. Unspent dayts are not forfeited by deletion — see “Do dayts expire?” under Dayts and paying.

Yes, free of charge. Email support@daytify.com and we answer within one month, as the GDPR requires. You can have a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and separately a copy of the content you created on the site, in a commonly used machine-readable format.

The other rights — correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent — work the same way and are listed in the Privacy Policy.

You can withdraw the profile-data consent in your privacy settings or by email, at any time, without cancelling your account and without accepting anything else in exchange. Withdrawing is as easy as giving it and takes effect from that moment.

The practical effect: a dating profile is made of exactly that data, so your profile can no longer be shown to other members — it comes out of search, out of matches and out of the member list. You can still sign in. There is no penalty, no fee and no loss of dayts, and it is not a breach of contract.

You have 14 days from buying dayts to withdraw from the purchase, without giving a reason and without any fee. Unspent dayts are refunded in full; dayts you have already spent are charged pro rata, worked out from the price you actually paid, with bonus dayts counted in so that a bonus never works against you.

Write to support@daytify.com from the address on your account. Any clear statement will do — there is no form to fill in and no retention offer to sit through. We refund within 14 days of your notice, by the same payment method, at no charge. The full rules and a model withdrawal form are on the Refund Policy page.

Write to support@daytify.com, or to safety@daytify.com if it concerns another member’s conduct or content. We confirm receipt and give a substantive reply within 15 days, saying whether we accept your claim and, if we do, how and when we will resolve it. If we need longer we tell you in writing before the deadline and give you a new one. If we refuse, we give our reasons in writing.

If our answer does not satisfy you, you can take the matter free of charge to the Consumer Disputes Committee (Tarbijavaidluste komisjon) at the Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority, Endla 10a, 10122 Tallinn, www.ttja.ee. Complaints about personal data go to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon), info@aki.ee. You always keep the right to go to court.

Very little. A session cookie that holds your visit together, the login cookies if you sign in (2 days, or 14 if you ask us to remember you), and a cookie recording your cookie choice for 6 months. There is no analytics on this site at all — no Google Analytics, no measurement product of any other kind, and no advertising pixel.

The Facebook SDK and Google reCAPTCHA load only if you allow marketing cookies; without that permission your browser makes no request to them. Refusing everything optional is one click and the site still works exactly the same. A “Cookie settings” button sits in the bottom-left corner of every page. Full detail in the Cookies Policy.
